Bernie Geoffrion Biography
Bernard Joseph André Geoffrion
was born February 14, 1931 in Montreal, Quebec. Bernie had a hard
time showing the fans how good he is, with Gordie Howie and fellow
teammate Maurice Richard. But after he won the Art Ross Trophy he
started to make his stand. Bernard was a tuff cookie and play
hard. He broke his nose 6 times and had over 400 Stitches.
Bernard retired in 1964 and then returned to play with the New
York Rangers. Two years later he retired again. In 1972 Boom
Boom became a coach for the Atlanta Flames. Bernie "Boom
Boom" Geoffrion later died March 11, 2006 from Stomach Cancer. |
